What's in my bag?

Well thanks to Tym, who is the source of all my blog challenges, it is a cool idea. I don't feel like dumping my purse, but I can tell you what is in it today. I did take a pic of a purse I got a freebie in SL. I would never carry it, but it's a purse for this blog post.

  1. Iphone - I use the phone for phone calls, but it's better for web browsing in the line at the grocery store, IMing friends, and playing games.
  2. Ipod - I have a 45 minute commute -each way - so it's a life saver. I have had the Ipod longer than the Iphone and it's easier to keep Audible books and pod casts loaded and ready for car rides. It's also easier because I can use the phone if I need to and I don't have to switch back and form Itunes to the phone.
  3. Iphone head set - You never know when you want to listen to music in the grocery store.
  4. Iphone blue tooth ear piece - I drive a convertible, so I always keep it in my purse in case it's a great top down day and there is no way I will hear the phone ring.
  5. Wallet - I have a small Coach leather change purse that holds my credit cards. I almost never have cash. Zak says I do it on purpose. For years I used a rubber band, then one of my cousins gave me this little change purse. I have had it for over 10 years, but it still works well. I will be in trouble if I wear a hole in it.
  6. ID badge from work - I would loose it if it wasn't in my purse. Enough said.
  7. Comb - It comes in handy.
  8. Lipstick - I have a little bag that goes in my purse and holds 4 tubes of lipstick. I'm cheap so they were all in a "gift with purchase" from Lancombe. I don't wear Lancombe, but my Mom does and she never likes the free lipsticks. I have tons of lipsticks and mascara tubes.
  9. Pill box - I have this nice beaded pill box that I keep Advil, Claritin, and other things I may need a moment's notice. Nothing bad, just the basic first aid kit.
  10. Mints from restaurants - Ok, these do multiply in your purse. I think I have even heard a few of them having sex.
  11. Keys - I think this is self explanatory
  12. Change - OK I dump all my loose change in the bottom.
  13. Woman Thingies - That's what Zak calls them. I have them if I remember to replace the one I used the last time I wasn't paying attention to the calendar. It's a game of chance as to whether or not I am "prepared."
  14. Altoids - I always have a box of cinnamon Altoids on hand at all times.
  15. Check book- I have a book of checks, no fancy cover, just tossed in the bottom. I always need it when I pick up the dry cleaning.
  16. Receipts - Yea there are always a few in the bottom. Mainly from restaurants so it's just being lazy. No hope of returning anything there.
  17. Ink Pens - This is also a crap shoot. If I want one I don't have one, and if I don't need one there is one shoved in the bottom.
  18. Hand sanitizer - This goes without saying for a couple who eats out way to much.
  19. Hand lotion - See above.
  20. Ethernet cable - I might need it when going to work in another building. It's a short one, but it comes in handy.
I think that covers all the stuff that ends up in my purse. Zak calls it the magic bag because I can pull all sorts of stuff out of it. I hope you are all ok without a picture to visualize this collection of stuff.

Wow, Tomorrow is Christmas Eve!

It always amazes me to think back on all of the things that have happened in year when it is coming to an end.  We all say that time is on overdrive in SL and I think that is true.  I was contemplating all of the things that have happened over the course of the last year in SL.   I have always believed that change is a glorious opportunity in life that keep things fresh and exciting.  Without change we would get bored.  I just have to step back and think of all the lightening fast changes that happen in SL and try to keep my head from spinning.  Good friends have come in and out of lives.  Store and clubs we love have opened and closed.  Zak alts multiply faster than atoms splitting in a nuclear reaction.  Through it all there are some constants.  I still have white hair.  (OK, at this point I own too many styles to change colors.)  Zak is still obsessed with finding the perfect skin with eyebrows for a man with blond hair.  We have a great core group of friends who have been with us through all of it.   To all of you,   may you have a very meaningful and cherished holiday, not matter what you are celebrating.  The new year promises to be full of even more good changes and opportunities.  Things are uncertain, but they always have been, and they always will be.  Now is the time to focus on love, friends, family, and hope.

I have finally merged SL and RL! It's kinda weird

Each year in RL I spend a whole evening watching old Christmas specials, especiall Olive the Other Raindeer, drinking wine, and wrapping packages.   Ok, the main purpose is to get the gifts wrapped, but you have to make a really boring job fun.  Zak hates to wrap.   Usually I end up down stairs wrapping on the den floor and watching movies on the TV.   This year, we finally got the Free View TV working.  We had Olive going on the TV in the den and we invited several friends over. We all sat around in SL watching Olive and the Grinch. (not at the same time silly)  I was here in RL wrapping packages on my desk.   The den floor has more room, but this was much more fun.  It was a party.   Each year SL seems to keep getting better.   BTW, I have your gift here under the tree.   Have a great Christmas Week and enjoy the holidays, which ever one you celebrate.

The Holidays are almost here!

I can not believe that Christmas will be here in 11 days.  It does not seem possible.  RL has been busy with shopping and chores.  We have an office party next week and I am responsible for some of the food, so I had to clean the dust off my kitchen counter and remember how to cook.   It was a lot of fun and cheese ball and cocktail nuts are now ready for tomorrow.

I have also been shopping in SL but oddly enough for myself.  I dropped by Calla yesterday to see if they had new hair and I was thrilled with the new Indian Cane.  It's a casual knot of hair at the nape of your neck.  I wore it to a holiday party last night and it looked great.
I still haven't figured out what I am going to get Zak for Christmas.  I always have the same problems that everyone does because so many things in SL are no transfer.  I may take pictures from stores of what I would have bought him and then give him the L$ in total for the purchases.   Or I guess we can go shopping together.  GothiCatz has a great gift vendor that lets you pick out an outfit, pay for it, and have it delivered to someone else.  I am sure there are other stores that use a similar system but theirs sticks out in my mind.   Good luck with your holiday shopping and have a wonderful and safe holiday!

Christmas Moon

We danced on the Christmas moon last night. We have the moon platform for parties and it's a great place to sit and look at the stars. Zak made some decorations for the top and we put out the big silver tree. We have a silver tree in RL so it's nice to have one here too. The holidays are getting closer and we have started recieving holiday cards and party invitations. I love parties in SL because I can get dressed up and not have to worry with it in RL. I even like to entertain in SL because the cooking is so much easier. Maybe we will have to have a holiday party this year too. Have a great week!
